Ref. : No ref.
Production Date : Unknow / Circa 1940-1950’s
The second lighter pictured on this weblog, but a much older one. It bears a very old Rotring logo, contemporary to the one seen on Tintenkulli pens so I date it around the late 1950’s – early 1960’s era (see the close up the logo on the picture). Its a very nice all metal piece with a superb streamline design. It’s 5.5 cm width and 4.5 cm high. It is branded as « Silver Match » which seems to indicate that Rotring purchased this model from a manufacturer and simply put his logo on the front side. This is quite clear when you watch the inside of the lighter. There’s some interesting instructions on the gas tank. I can easily translate the text because it’s in French. It reads : Made in France, Property of Silver Match Patent, Refill forbidden ». The lighter came empty, I got no gas, it’s advise against refill, so I haven’t risk it. Althought I got it from a German seller, may be this was a French promotional item.
